24/7 on the Dancefloor: Durationality and Community 😮‍💨

“Becoming molecular, through sound, and through the collective body of movement. The everywhere blackened space of the club provides a Null Space in which to unleash alien temporalities onto otherwise regimented bodies,” Authentically Plastic writes in their text on the Technopolis. Dancefloors are spaces of communal time-bending, of reaching across generations both in the crowd and in the music selection. Durational parties spanning over multiple days warp our understandings of daily rhythms. This panel explores the politics around these experiences. How do gentrification, zoning laws and drug regulation influence clubbing hours? What drives us to stay out for so long, what enables us to stay in community spaces extendedly?
